We're looking for a Family Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting children in care and care leavers. This role is about more than support—it's about advocacy, empowerment, and creating lasting impact.

🔹 What You'll Be Doing

Working 1:1 with children in their homes and facilitating inclusive group sessions that encourage self-expression.

*

Advocating for children in care and care leavers, ensuring their voices influence decisions at every level.

*

Leading youth-led initiatives such as the Youth Cabinet, Young Inspectors, and consultation events.

*

Supporting children and young people to co-produce policies, campaigns, and strategies based on their lived experiences.

*

Representing children's views at senior forums, including the Corporate Parenting Partnership Board.

*

Building strong, positive relationships with professionals, parents, and carers to embed the voice of the child in service planning.

*

Promoting awareness of local, regional, and national youth-led campaigns.

*

Maintaining accurate records and managing budgets in line with RMBC policy.

🔹 What We're Looking For

*

Previous experience as a Family Support Worker or in a similar role working directly with children and families.

*

Confidence in planning, risk assessing, and facilitating group work that puts children at the centre.

*

Strong knowledge of advocacy, co-production, and inclusive practice.

*

Ability to creatively capture and present children's views in engaging ways.

*

A genuine passion for improving outcomes for looked-after children and young people.
