Company: AUTISM UNLIMITED

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £12.60 - £12.85/hour

Are you someone who enjoys making a real difference every day?
We are looking for a Community Support Worker to join our team in Poole, where you'll become a trusted companion to a young man we support. Your role will be all about encouraging him to live more independently—whether that's supporting with everyday tasks at home, exploring new hobbies and interests, or even gaining experience through work placements.
No two days are ever the same, and the impact you'll have can be truly life-changing. If you're caring, patient, and ready to be part of something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you!
Due to the needs George has, we can only accept applications from male candidates who have a background in health and social care, including experience with autism.
Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship.

The role
George uses visual aids to help him plan and understand his day. We have been fortunate enough to work with George since the start of the year as he is taking part in our 'Futures' project and was welcomed in to our adult services programme in March.
George enjoys a range of activities, such as:
* Treating himself to a cinema trip to watch a new film.
* Trying his luck at some new tricks at the skate park
* Challenging staff to a game of mini golf
* When it rains, George prefers to stay indoors and play a board game or watch a Marvel film.
George is supported on a 1:1 basis and is reliant on his support staff. He requires assistance with personal care, medication and meal preparation.

Hours:
20 hours per week
This would be a mixture of shifts Monday - Sunday with hours ranging between 7am - 10pm
This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)

Why join us?
* Blue Light discount card
* A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
* Sleep in rate between £50 - £80
* Overtime available at competitive rates
* 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
* The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you've passed your probation period.
* All colleagues have access to an internal learning portal so you can increase your skills and knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
* Cycle to work scheme
* Up to 33 days annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays)
* A generous employee referral scheme - you can earn £400 for each person you successfully refer!
* Benefits portal which gives you access to money off your favourite shops, restaurants, and great days out, along with a cashback healthcare plan for general day-to-day healthcare such as optical and dental.
* A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family and legal information.
* We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support you in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.
