About the Role
We are recruiting Haulage Supervisor to join the Bardon Waste Transfer Station. This role requires strong supervisory experience, excellent organisational skills and confidence working in a busy, safety-critical environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the Waste Transfer Station and Waste Haulage, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and legal requirements.
- Manage a team of Specialist HGV Drivers and Waste Management Operatives, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Waste Operations Team, Fleet Team, and third-party waste site staff.
- Ensure efficient operation of LCC owned vehicles and adherence to tachograph and legal requirements.
- Monitor the WTS and haulage operations and maintain high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance, and operational security.
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (e.g. fuel usage) and maintain accurate training and safety records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in management of haulage and/or waste, or similar experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, including bank holidays and weekends, as required.
- Ability to travel across multiple sites within the County (Occasionally as required)
