Reed Practice is recruiting for an Accounts Manager on behalf of a well-established accounting firm based in Reading.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to step into a leadership role within a supportive and growing firm. As an Accounts Manager, you will:

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, overseeing the preparation of year-end accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and other financial reports
• Review work prepared by junior staff and provide guidance and support to ensure high standards
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and offering strategic advice
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Assist in the development and training of the team
• Support partners with workflow planning and client development initiatives

You are a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with:

• Proven experience in a UK practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• A proactive and organised approach to managing deadlines and team responsibilities
• A collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to the firm’s continued success
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with flexibility between office and remote work
