Business Development Manager – Van Conversions Location
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000pa dependent on experience plus uncapped commission
Based out of our Leeds Head Office, covering the UK

Due to our continued progressive growth, diversification and planned further expansion, SM UK currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager for our Van Conversion Division to further enhance our existing team.
SM UK are recognised as the preferred supplier for the UK’s biggest manufacturer of vehicle safety systems including commercial vehicle CCTV, reverse cameras, cyclist detection systems including HALO®, obstacle detection and radar systems, visual warning systems and specialist vehicle installation. More recently SM UK has expanded into the Racking, Welfare and Van Conversion Market dealing with leading brands such as Sortimo and System Edstrom to provide bespoke solutions for clients up and down the country.
We are looking to recruit a highly proactive, enthusiastic and target driven Business Development Manager who can confidently communicate at all levels. You will be motivated and ambitious and want to be part of our Team with a desire to expand your knowledge and experience to further develop your future career with us.
Ideally you will have previous van conversion sales experience within the automotive industry or similar background working within a dealership or vehicle sales setting.
The ideal candidate will be confident and be able to work to a high standard on their own initiative and as part of a Team. Drawing on your sales experience you will be responsible for developing and identifying your contacts to build a database of leads and a pipeline of potential business throughout the UK. You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills and stive to provide the best possible customer solution for every opportunity, generating and building long standing working relationships with new and existing clients and strategic partners.
You will have strong communication and presentation skills to deliver potential and existing customers with targeted, relevant optimum solutions using leading edge products, supported by our in-house Design Engineer.
Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets, with uncapped commission potential
- UK wide lead generation and networking
- Building a database of quality leads/pipeline throughout the UK
- Quotation creation and proactive follow-ups
- Account/customer relationship management
- Providing an exceptional customer experience
- Following internal procedures when processing orders
- Liaising effectively with internal departments to provide seamless customer service.
