Electrical Technician - R&D Engineering
Location: Near Ormskirk, West Lancashire
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (Depending on Experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you an experienced Electrical Technician with a passion for hands-on engineering and problem-solving? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and innovative organisation based near Ormskirk, West Lancashire, looking to strengthen their R&D Engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting-edge technical environment where you'll be involved in the design, build, and support of a wide range of electrical equipment - from lab-scale instruments to large prototyping machinery.

What you'll be doing:

Installing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems

*

Supporting the manufacture and practical application of new R&D equipment

*

Working with control panels, motors, low voltage distribution systems, conveyors, and heating systems

*

Interpreting electrical drawings and solving equipment issues across the site

*

Collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects and support tasks

What we're looking for:

*

Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship

*

Experience in equipment installation, testing, repair, and maintenance

*

Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills

*

Comfortable working in both team and independent settings

*

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

*

Ideally, City & Guilds electrical qualification and experience in an industrial or lab-based setting
