Job Summary

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you'll diagnose and clear internal drainage blockages, carry out basic plumbing repairs, and use mechanical equipment to clean and descale pipework. The role includes conducting basic CCTV inspections, identifying faults, completing detailed job reports, and communicating findings while working safely in residential and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Independently diagnose and clear internal drainage blockages including WCs, urinals, basins, sinks, floor gullies and small-bore waste, suspended pipework / stacks.

* Safely remove and reinstate sanitaryware (WCs, urinals, to facilitate access and clearance.

* Carry out basic plumbing - replacing traps, pan connectors, flush pipes fill and flush valves etc.

* Cut out and replace small bore pipework.

* Carry out internal pipework tracing and identify defects or design issues.

* Use hand machines and mechanical equipment correctly to core and clean pipework following initial clearance.

* Familiar with under sink pump units (submersible pumps) grease traps and macerator units. - Not essential but will come across all three so desirable.

* Conduct basic CCTV inspections of internal systems to confirm clearance and identify visible defects.

* Identify common causes of internal drainage issues including scale build-up, poor falls, displaced joints, and misuse.

* Can carry out internal descaling works using mechanical descaling equipment.

* Perform fault-finding on recurring blockages and recommend appropriate next steps.

* Complete clear and detailed job sheets including photographic evidence and accurate descriptions of findings.

* Confidence in carrying out works in live commercial and residential environments.

* Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding findings, limitations, and recommendations.

* Able to read and interpret as-built drawings and utility plans to understand internal drainage layouts, stack positions

Requirements

* City & Guilds Level 2&3 in Plumbing - Desired

* HPJW Ticket

* X2 References

* 5 years' experience in a similar position

* Clean UK Driver's License

* Right to work in the UK
