1:1 Teaching Assistant - Stockport
Salary: £24,570 - £25,935 | Full Time (37.5 hours/week)

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning for pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver personalised support, helping pupils engage, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with learning activities, adapting approaches to individual needs under teacher guidance

Promote pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed strategies

Assist in managing behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and code of conduct

Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks

Provide one-to-one support for a specific pupil, ensuring consistent guidance and care

The Successful Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting

Understand SEND and complex needs

Be aware of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles

Be able to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision

Demonstrate patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude
