Technologist / Technical Account Coordinator 
Location: Alconbury
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

A well-established and growing business within FMCG sector is currently seeking a Technologist/Technical Account Admin to support customer accounts and internal teams.
This role sits within a technical function but is fundamentally administrative in nature, with significant customer exposure. It is suited to a highly organised, detail-focused individual who presents themselves professionally, communicates confidently, and is comfortable managing conversations where customer expectations must be aligned with product specifications.
The Role
The Technologist Administrator will be responsible for managing product specifications, technical data, and documentation while acting as a key, customer-facing point of contact. The role requires regular interaction with customers to review requirements against agreed specifications and ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment.
The role involves managing customer expectations against product specifications, including confidently and professionally discussing alternative options when original requests cannot be met. This is done while protecting both product integrity and the long-term customer relationship.
A high level of professional communication, confidence in customer-facing discussions, and meticulous attention to detail are critical to success in this role.

Duties:

Daily interaction with customers, addressing queries and providing timely resolutions
Attend customer meetings to present business performance on relevant topics
Be familiar with customer specifications platforms
Ensure that product meets set quality standards / customer expectations
Handle customer complaints, including root cause analysis and ensuring customer satisfaction
Prepare and report on key business KPIs
Communicate all customer COP (Code of Practice) changes across the business
Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure customer expectations are met
Work alongside Account Managers to ensure alignment and consistency
Manage customer pre-productions in collaboration with NPD teams
Lead customer visits on site
Effectively communicate customer requirements and expectations across the business
Confidently propose and agree alternative product options when original requests cannot be met.
Create, review, update, and maintain accurate product specifications across internal and customer systems.
Review customer requirements against product specifications and identify discrepancies, risks, or required changes.
Manage constructive and sometimes challenging conversations with customers to align expectations with feasible specifications. 
The Candidate:

Proven experience in a senior administrative, technical administration, or specification coordination role.
Strong customer-facing experience with the confidence to manage expectation-led conversations.
Strong communication — both written and verbal.
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
Comfortable working with data, specifications, and internal/customer systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant IT platforms.
Experience within FMCG, fresh produce, or the floral sector is advantageous but not essential.This is not a hands-on technical or laboratory-based role. It is a senior, fast-paced administrative position with significant customer interaction, where communication style, professional presence, and accuracy are essential.
