MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
UP TO £60,000 PA

FULL TIME CONTRACT ROLE – UP TO 12 MONTHS
I have partnered with a private members’ only club to recruit a proactive and analytical Management Accountant for a maternity cover position. This role is crucial in supporting the Finance Department by delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, monthly reconciliations, and data-driven insights to inform operational and strategic decisions. You must have relevant experience in the hospitality, leisure or retail industry and strong Excel skills. This is a hybrid role, with a competitive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Management Accounts:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
- Provide variance analysis and narrative commentary.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Produce sales reporting for various departments.
- Produce monthly capex expenditure reports for the CFO and various departments.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and general ledger transactions.
Reconciliations and Financial Control:
- Perform regular reconciliations across all major accounts, including deferred income, retail stock, full general ledger, VAT returns, and capex reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and procedures.
Sales and Income Processing:
- Process income and reporting for events, membership, investment income, and rental invoices.
- Oversee and understand the revenue at the club.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise with departmental managers to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
- Support the Head of Finance with CFO reports and analysis.
Audit and Systems:
- Assist with external audits.
- Support financial systems and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with audit requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or QBE (Qualified by Experience).
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with reconciliations and large data sets.
- Experience in hospitality, leisure, or retail.
