We are working with a well-established and growing heavy industry business who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager with an electrical bias to support and drive reliability across their site operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with management experience ready to step up into management, or an existing Maintenance Manager who still enjoys being hands-on with equipment and fault finding.
Reporting into the Operations/Engineering Lead, you will take ownership of the site’s maintenance function, ensuring maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety across all electrical systems and associated equipment.
This is a split role, combining leadership responsibilities with practical, on-the-tools involvement when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of multi-skilled engineers
- Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities (PPM & reactive)
- Drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
- Manage maintenance budgets, spares, and contractor activity
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSE and compliance standards
- Fault finding, diagnostics and repair of electrical systems and machinery
- Support breakdowns and critical failures when needed
- Work on PLCs, drives, control panels, and automation systems
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
- Assist with installations, upgrades, and project work
- Strong background as an Electrical Engineer within heavy manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, control panels, and fault finding
- Previous leadership/supervisory experience or ready to step up into a management role
- Comfortable balancing desk-based planning with hands-on engineering work
- Knowledge of PPM systems and continuous improvement practices
