The role

The purpose of this role is to raise quality standards, culture and outcomes, reduce defects at handover and be an on-site resource. Managing the clerk of works framework and ensuring consistent quality across SNG London and East Region projects setting the benchmark quality standards. This role will include providing on-site support to the Development Delivery Managers on all on-site SNG London and East projects.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Ensuring that new clerk of work appointments are in accordance with SNG procurement policy and manage the clerk of works framework.
• Safeguarding consistent quality across SNG London and East region on site projects.
• Regularly attending sites with the Development Delivery Managers to assist in mentoring them on setting high quality standards.
• Leading on quality in the pre-handover phase of the construction projects, including setting standards, snagging/de-snagging inspections and handover.

What we're looking for:

• Relevant Quality Management experience working with a Housing Warranty provider, Main Contractor, Housebuilder or similar.
• Widespread technical, statutory compliance and warranty / insurance knowledge and keep up to date with the ever-changing statutory compliance landscape.
• Expert, current knowledge of all house-building technologies, methods, MMC and materials and ability to interpret drawings, specifications and building contract documentation.
• Strong communication skills, including an ability to offer and receive challenge in a constructive, straightforward, and open manner.
• Commitment to high ethical standards of integrity and honesty, and an understanding of the value and importance of developing a culture that makes a great place to work.
