Highway Inspector – £16.62 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Highway Inspector, you’ll ensure that roads, footways and public spaces are safe, compliant, and inspected within statutory timeframes. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same.

You will:

• Carry out scheduled highway condition inspections in line with the Code of Practice
• Identify, prioritise and raise defects that require further action
• Accurately record inspection data using Confirm, including risks and traffic management requirements
• Manage public enquiries and enforcement cases, following set protocols
• Support insurance claims, including representing LCC in court where necessary
• Assist with maintaining accurate highways records
• Work effectively with district and parish partners
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations (2015)
• Follow all Quality Management procedures

What You’ll Bring

To succeed in this role, you must have:

A valid NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) qualification – this is essentialThis is a mandatory requirement for carrying out highway inspections.
