An ambitious and high-performing education establishment in South East London is seeking an exceptional Head of Arts & Media to lead and develop a successful vocational Arts and Media provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate practitioner to take strategic and operational responsibility for Arts and Media programmes, driving high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement across Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
The Role
As Head of Arts & Media, you will:
- Lead and manage the Arts, Media and Design team, setting a clear vision for curriculum delivery
- Ensure outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across all programmes
- Track, monitor and improve student progress and outcomes
- Maintain high standards of curriculum planning, quality assurance and awarding body compliance
- Inspire learners to achieve their full potential and progress successfully to higher education or careers
- Act as a role model for excellent vocational teaching practice
Essential Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate:
- A degree and qualified teacher status (or equivalent)
- Significant experience teaching Arts and/or Media, ideally within a vocational or post-16 setting
- Proven experience of raising student achievement and adding value
- Experience of leading or coordinating a curriculum area or team
- Strong understanding of vocational qualifications, assessment and quality assurance
- Ability to analyse and use data to inform intervention and improvement
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
- The ability to motivate students and staff and maintain high expectations
