Company: PERMANENT FUTURES LIMITED

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £59000 - £72000/annum + benefits

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a small, multi-skilled engineering team within a fast-paced operational environment. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who can balance strategic oversight with practical, on-the-tools support across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.

As Maintenance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of site equipment and engineering operations. You will lead from the front—driving standards, developing your team, and actively supporting fault finding and repair activities when required.

This is a key position for someone who thrives in a proactive environment and is passionate about delivering high levels of uptime and engineering excellence.

Rolls & Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop a small team of multi-skilled engineers
Drive team performance through clear KPIs, coaching, and accountability
Ensure planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered effectively
Take a hands-on approach to diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical faults
Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance at all times
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
Manage maintenance schedules, resource planning, and workload prioritisation
Work closely with operations to minimise downtime and support production targets
Maintain accurate records and reporting of maintenance activities
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager / Supervisor / Team Leader role
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills (multi-skilled background essential)
Experience leading and motivating engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
Ability to remain hands-on while managing team performance and priorities
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
We're looking for a leader who sets the standard—someone who is just as comfortable coaching a team as they are picking up tools and solving problems on the ground. You'll be driven, resilient, and focused on building a high-performing engineering function
