We are currently partnering with a leading private mental health provider in Lancashire to recruit two Ward Managers—one on an interim basis to provide immediate operational support, and one on a permanent basis.

This organisation specialises in mental health rehabilitation, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Their services are built around person-centred care, delivered within therapeutic environments that promote recovery, independence, and dignity.

The Role

As a Ward Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operational leadership of the service. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and recovery-focused care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinical leader who is passionate about driving quality, leading teams, and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide visible and effective leadership across the ward

* Lead, supervise, and develop a team of RMNs and Recovery Support Workers

* Ensure compliance with clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory standards (including Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and CQC)

* Oversee staffing, rotas, and workforce planning, including participation in the on-call rota

* Maintain high standards in care documentation, medication management, and ward environment

* Lead clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous service development

* Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture

* Build strong relationships with families, carers, and external professionals

* Support recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing staff development

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

* Be a qualified RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse)

* Have significant experience within inpatient mental health or rehabilitation settings

* Demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills

* Possess excellent knowledge of clinical risk, safeguarding, and regulatory frameworks

* Be committed to person-centred, recovery-focused care

* Be passionate about developing teams and driving service excellence
