Adele Carr are proud to be partnering with a leading organisation based in Liverpool to recruit an Assistant Accountant - Tax. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional to develop their tax expertise within a large and complex group environment.

This role offers a hybrid working model, with two days per week in a Liverpool city centre office and the remainder working from home.The RoleAs Assistant Accountant - Tax, you will support the delivery of an efficient and compliant tax function across the Group. Working closely with the Group Tax Accountant and wider finance teams, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining compliance, and driving process improvements.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with tax compliance across the Group, including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax and SDLT
  • Support the preparation and analysis of data for tax returns and submissions
  • Work alongside the Group Tax Accountant on annual tax computations and reporting
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, applying these to business activities
  • Support the implementation of tax-efficient practices across the organisation
  • Contribute to maintaining robust tax controls, systems, and procedures
  • Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance function
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, HMRC, and external advisors

About You

  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT or equivalent) or actively studying towards ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience within a finance role, ideally in a large or complex organisation
  • Exposure to VAT or other areas of tax is advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach with an interest in process improvement
