EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Ware
Contract: Short-Term (February - March) | Potential Extension & Permanent Opportunity
Start Date: February 2026

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ware on a short-term basis from February to March, with the strong possibility of extension. There is also potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children at a crucial stage of their development within a nurturing and engaging Early Years environment.

The Role

Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS provision

*

Working with small groups and individual pupils to support learning and development

*

Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities

*

Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe, inclusive classroom environment

*

Supporting children's social and emotional development

*

Contributing to observations and assessments where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

*

Experience working within an EYFS setting (school or nursery)

*

A strong understanding of the Early Years Framework

*

A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

*

A proactive and flexible attitude

*

Relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
