Operational Responsibilities Review daily booking activity from a pricing and commercial perspective. Review routing, carrier selection and associated pricing (revenue & expense) to ensure compliance with company and client expectations. Create, approve and attach quotes in pipeline and AS400. Create and maintain FMC rate filings per industry regulations. Look for opportunities to maximize revenue while maintaining adherence to client expectations (transit, detention free time, etc) Participate in pricing meetings and conf. calls to maintain awareness of current market conditions and opportunities Be the main conduit for all client, sales person, and booking team communications regarding pricing related matters Create, maintain, and ensure accuracy/validity of all customer quotes and agent P&L's Participate client RFQ's and be responsible for NSA construction and management Create and maintain internal communications between the overseas agent and Laufer personnel to ensure compliance (Interface) Manage discrepancies with carriers and ensure pricing and accounting are aware. Follow up to ensure resolution and systems are updated Key Skills and Qualifications Having commercial and economic awareness, including an awareness of global pricing practices and economic factors that can influence the shipping industry Ability to provide support and guidance to agents and clients in regard to routing/pricing Strong geographical awareness and experience routing international cargo A good grasp of the terminology and concepts of related equipment and logistics. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skill Computer literacy and competent in software programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. Understanding of ocean carrier services and operations (including carrier partnerships/alliances) Understanding of industry used terminology Experience working in a fast paced, team oriented, deadline driven department Problem solving skills Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances A degree, especially shipping and supply chain related, is seen as an advantage Accountability and Performance Measures Expectation is an Inside Pricing person can handle 400 booking/transactions per month Job Type: Full-time Apply Online Below
