Field Service Engineer - Software, Automation

Location: Midlands (Field-Based, UK Travel)

Salary: £44,000 + Annual bonus 10% of salary + New Company Car + Benefits

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a global engineering business, supporting industrial tooling solutions across a UK-wide customer base. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and strong long-term career development.

The Role

Installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial tooling equipment
Fault finding and performance optimisation on pneumatic, battery, and DC tools
Support network installations and PLC integrations
Calibration, testing, and certification of tools
Preventative maintenance and pre-delivery inspections
Customer-facing role with responsibility for resolving technical issues end-to-end
Identify service and upgrade opportunities and support wider sales activity
Complete job reports, documentation, and service records

The Candidate

HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience with industrial power tools or within a manufacturing/service environment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently in a field-based role
Good communication and customer-facing skills
Full UK driving licence
Flexible approach to travel, including occasional overnight stays
