Container Transport Operator

Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Salary: £40,000+ (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:30 (some out-of-hours work may be required)

Our client, a growing and well-established logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Container Transport Operator to manage day-to-day FCL (Full Container Load) transport operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual looking to play a key role within a busy and professional transport environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage import container deliveries and export collections across the UK

Input and manage bookings using TOPS transport software

Communicate effectively with drivers, subcontractors, and customers

Handle emails and telephone enquiries in a timely and professional manner

Maintain accurate operational records and ensure all data entry is kept up to date

Support general transport operations and account management where required

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience within container transport operations

Strong knowledge of UK geography and transport planning

Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Experience using TOPS transport software (preferred)

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Highly organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure
