Finance Assistant - Kidderminster

£25,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience)

If you're someone who enjoys keeping things organised behind the scenes, likes working with numbers, and gets satisfaction from a job well done - this could be a lovely fit.

This is a steady, hands-on finance role within a genuinely friendly and supportive team. They've had a couple of changes recently and are now looking to bring in someone reliable and detail-focused who can hit the ground running.

There's a nice mix of day-to-day tasks and some investigative bits too, so if you like working methodically and being the person others turn to when they need something done right, you'll feel at home here.

You don't need to be studying or qualified - just some solid finance experience (roughly 12 months or more) and a good head for numbers is what they're after. Whether you're early in your career or bring plenty of on-the-job experience, they're open to a conversation.

What you'll be doing:

Answering finance-related questions and helping out other teams when needed
Processing card payments over the phone in a secure and friendly way
Handling same-day and scheduled payments to make sure everything runs smoothly
Logging incoming payments and sorting out any that aren't clearly labelled
Taking care of cheques for both client and internal use
Moving funds between accounts and keeping track of upcoming expenses
Keeping an eye on account activity and making sure everything matches up
Checking in on any old or uncashed cheques and making sure balances are up to date
Helping the team follow financial guidelines and internal best practicesWhat you'll need:

Around 12+ months' experience in a finance role (ideally with exposure to accounts payable/receivable or cash handling)
Strong attention to detail and a steady, methodical approach
Good Excel and IT skills
