A thriving Wimbledon based business is seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join their team.
Job Title: Senior Finance Assistant
Job purpose
- To process and maintain the daily and periodic requirements within the Group Finance department for which you have responsibility.
- To assist the team in all aspects of providing and developing management and financial information for the Group’s directors and management teams and ensuring that current levels of accuracy and quality of reporting are maintained.
- To Assist the Credit Controller to ensure debts owed to the company are kept to a minimum by following the company’s debt chase procedures, reducing the payment collection period.
Key accountabilities
- Support preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance sheet analysis.
- Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
- Update fixed asset registers including the posting of depreciation.
- Assist with level one variance analysis and investigate movements against prior months, budgets and forecasts where appropriate.
- Provide guidance to the Finance assistant on coding, processes and priorities in line with delivery of preset timetable.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with Finance Business Partner direction and management.
- Assist with the production of the yearend audit pack.
- Assist with quarterly VAT reporting.
- Supplier payment run review including dealing with queries.
- Perform any other duties which from time to time may be required to ensure the smooth running of the finance department.
- Professional skills and experience
- Strong analytical skills, along with good verbal and written communication skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, and in particular Mircosoft Excel
