HGV Class 1 Driver - afternoon shifts

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Shifts:

Thursday - Monday: start times between 14:00-17:00

Rates of Pay:

• Basic: £17.20 per hour and after 20:00 is paid at £20.00 per hour
• Sunday : £22.00 per hour
• Bank Holiday: £31.73 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Driver will be:

• RDC or Brewery Deliveries no handball (working on curtain-side)
• Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed
• Deliver cage to DCs and supermarkets 
• Up to 2 drops per shift

Essential Skills:

As a HGV Class 1 Driver you will need to:

• Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence 
• Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes 
• Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
• Previous experience with multi drop deliveries

Training 

• Driver's Assessment must have to be completed
• Industry related training provided and ongoing support throughout
