Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer for a local authority based in Berkshire.

In this role, you will support households in temporary accommodation by managing placements, completing essential documentation, and ensuring legal compliance under homelessness legislation.

Key Duties:

• Manage temporary accommodation sign-ups, including Housing Benefit forms and license agreements.
• Maintain accurate placement records on NEC and Jigsaw systems.
• Conduct suitability assessments and discharge housing duties under s.188 and s.193.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and apply safeguarding practices in all casework.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience in managing or placing households in temporary accommodation.
• Knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly s.188 and s.193 duties.
• Familiarity with housing management systems such as NEC and Jigsaw.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and their application in housing services.

What's on offer:

Salary: Up to £22ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
