Job Title: QHSE Assistant
Location: Leigh, Wigan
Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible start times available)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a QHSE Assistant to join a long-established manufacturing company based in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Health & Safety, Quality, or Compliance within a manufacturing or production environment who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking and supportive business.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the QHSE Manager in the implementation and monitoring of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental procedures

*

Conducting risk assessments including PUWER, DSE, Manual Handling, and COSHH

*

Assisting with internal audits and maintaining audit readiness at all times

*

Delivering inductions and supporting H&S and QHSE-related training across the site

*

Supporting compliance with standards such as BRCGS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001

*

Assisting with accident investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis

*

Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of QHSE performance and KPIs

*

Supporting with continuous improvement projects and culture-building initiatives

What We're Looking For:

*

Experience in a similar QHSE, Health & Safety, or Compliance role (manufacturing or production environment preferred)

*

Exposure to or understanding of industry standards such as BRCGS, ISO 9001/14001/45001

*

IOSH or NEBOSH qualified (or working towards)

*

Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills

*

Confident working independently and as part of a team

*

Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

*

Full UK driving licence
