Tempest Resourcing are working in partnership with specialist SEN schools across South London who are seeking compassionate, proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.

This role is ideal for:

Experienced Care Assistants

Support Workers

SEN Teaching Assistants

Individuals with a background in health & social care

Graduates looking to move into specialist education

💙 About the Role

You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs including PMLD, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical needs. Many pupils are non-verbal and require high levels of personal care and tailored communication support.

This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Your responsibilities may include:

Providing 1:1 or small group support

Assisting with personal care (hoisting, feeding, toileting)

Supporting students with communication (PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies)

Working alongside therapists and teaching staff

Encouraging independence and engagement in learning

✅ What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or adults with complex needs, PMLD, or disabilities

Background in care, residential support, nursing, or SEN education

Calm, patient and nurturing personality

Comfortable supporting personal care needs

Team player with a proactive attitude

A Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
