Location: Hybrid - Projects across Sussex, Hampshire & Kent

We're currently working in partnership with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to appoint a Mechanical Project Engineer to support their clean and waste water projects across the South East. This is a hybrid role combining office, site, and home-based working.

The Mechanical Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of mechanical elements across a portfolio of water infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider MEICA and civils teams, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical installations and commissioning activities meet technical, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Support delivery of mechanical works across clean and wastewater projects
Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Contribute to construction planning, commissioning, and site delivery
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, industry standards, and health and safety regulations
Provide technical support to project teams and assist in issue resolution on site
Support procurement of mechanical components and subcontractor packages
Monitor progress and quality, ensuring delivery is on time and to specification
Assist in preparing documentation for handover, including O&M manuals
About You:

Mechanical engineering experience within utilities, water, or related infrastructure sectors
Background in delivering projects with significant mechanical scope (e.g. pumps, pipework, treatment equipment)
HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
CSCS card (managerial, supervisory or technical level)
SMSTS or equivalent health & safety qualification preferred
Able to work collaboratively and proactively in a multi-disciplinary teamWhat's on Offer:
