Reed Accountancy have the pleasure of a supporting a well-established legal firm, who are on the lookout for a Trainee Legal Cashier to join their small but friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career, preferably a recent college leaver, with strong numerical ability and a genuine interest in working within the legal finance sector.

Key Responsibilities

Following full training, you will support the smooth operation of the firm’s client account processes, including:

• Posting payments onto client file ledgers
• Reviewing invoices and completion statements prepared by fee earners for accuracy
• Identifying and correcting errors in financial documentation
• Assisting with the preparation of payments relating to sales and purchase completions
• Handling confidential client money in a high-risk, highly regulated environment
• Ensuring all work complies with internal processes and the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules

About the Team

You will join a small, supportive Accounts department led by an experienced Accounts Manager. The team works closely with colleagues across the firm, particularly those involved in property transactions. The office prides itself on being a welcoming, collaborative, and professional environment. While the pace can be busy (especially around completions), the culture is positive, balanced, and supportive.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for a college leaver or early-career individual who wants to develop in a legal finance role. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-level role for candidates who are diligent, organised, and eager to learn. The role is best suited to candidates with strong mathematical ability (maths background required), and with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You must have the ability to follow instructions carefully and consistently, a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility and a calm, methodical approach.
