Secondary SEN Tutor – Merton (PAYE)

New Chapter Tuition is seeking a compassionate and experienced Secondary SEN Tutor to support learners across Merton who are currently unable to access mainstream education.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to deliver 1:1 personalised tuition to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs, ADHD, anxiety, or those at risk of exclusion, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Secondary SEN Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver 1:1 outreach tuition to secondary-aged learners
  • Provide sessions in community settings (home, library, or local learning hubs)
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual academic and emotional needs
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to support engagement and confidence
  • Monitor and track progress, working collaboratively with families and professionals
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting young people with SEN (SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, exclusion)
  • Has a strong understanding of the UK secondary curriculum
  • Is calm, patient, and empathetic in their approach
  • Is confident working independently in outreach/community settings
  • Can adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs
