Collett & Sons have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Commercial Manager to join the team.

Location: Goole Depot, DN14 6UE

Job Type: Full - time, permanent

Hours: Anticipated normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs. Overtime and weekend working is required by the demands of the business.

Collett & Sons Ltd is a successful family-owned Company, established since 1928. Originally founded as a Transport Company, it has developed in to a multi-modal operator & has been set in to 4 closely run Divisions to reflect the diverse nature of the business and clients it serves. The 4 Divisions are integrated between each other which allow a ‘One stop shop’ service.

- Transport - Undertaking General transport, Freight Forwarding and Warehousing

- Heavy Lift - Heavy transport, Crane Hire, Lifting & Project management

- Marine - Vessel Chartering operations, Stevedoring, Port and Ships Agency services

- Consulting - Undertaking Route surveying, site access studies & reporting

The Company specialise in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads within the UK & Worldwide

We operate from our head office site in Halifax along with our port-based depots in Goole and in Grangemouth, Scotland.

Junior Commercial Manager - The Role:

- Responsible for providing commercial quotations and dealing with enquiries and Tenders on a daily basis to our customers’ requirements.

- To actively work collaboratively with all department to provide a joined-up delivery of commercial and operational requirements.

- Seeks to understand the wider business objectives and in line with this, looks for ways in which to reduce cost, improve resource utilisation and effectively improve service

- Ability to identify sales leads and new business and following up accordingly.

- Ensure that Company commitments are contractually achievable and assessed alongside the Company Terms and Conditions, along with any insurance or liability constraints.

Junior Commercial Manager – You:

The following requirements are preferred:

- Degree in Business, Logistics, Commercial law, Engineering or equivalent

- General Office I.T skills including Word and Excel

- Good communication skills and ability to converse at all levels.

- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

- Full Driving Licence

- Previous employment in an associated employment sector

- A record of being customer focused and showing the ability to communicate and work on a personal level with the client base on a daily basis.

- Maintaining, up-dating and expanding the CRM database.

- Ability to follow up on sales leads, and new business.

- Being capable of quoting, and dealing with Tenders and enquiries on a daily basis.

- Evidence of being commercially astute.

- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.

- Demonstrate understanding of the legal premise under which the Company operates.

- Understand and negotiate Insurance, Indemnity and Liability positions
