Basic Highways Operative - Gloucestershire

JML are currently recruiting for 4 x Highways Operatives to join a major highways maintenance contract across Gloucestershire, with depots located throughout the region.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term career prospects, training, and progression—including LGV driver training.

Job Details:

* Location: Various depots across Gloucestershire (including Cirencester - GL7 5DT)

* Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour (PAYE)

* Hours: 40 hours per week. 07:30am start

* Start Date: 27th April 2026

* Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out general highways maintenance and labouring duties

* Work outdoors in all weather conditions

* Support skilled operatives and site teams

* Ensure health & safety standards are followed at all times

Requirements:

* Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

* Previous experience in manual or outdoor roles (e.g. construction, waste/refuse, factory work)

* Good work ethic and reliability

* Willingness to learn and progress within the role
