Registered Manager - Children's EBD Services

About the Role

Hippo Staffing is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client — a respected and growing provider of high-quality, therapeutic residential care for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead and oversee a children's residential service in Burton On Trent. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for ensuring both homes deliver safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed care that promotes stability, growth, and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strong and effective leadership.

*

Ensure both services comply fully with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.

*

Develop and sustain a positive, therapeutic culture underpinned by child-centred and trauma-informed practice.

*

Lead, motivate, and support teams to deliver exceptional care and achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.

*

Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development across the setting.

*

Ensure robust safeguarding, incident management, and quality assurance processes are in place.

*

Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resources effectively.

*

Drive continuous improvement and maintain 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted ratings.

*

Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, and partner agencies.

Requirements

*

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

*

Proven track record in managing EBD residential homes with successful Ofsted outcomes.

*

Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, care regulations, and therapeutic approaches.

*

Excellent leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

*

Passionate about improving the lives and futures of young people.

*

Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between services.
