Cheetham Hill Construction is a family run business which has been operating for over 55 years. We are now seeking a Contracts Manager, experienced in civil engineering and earthworks to join our team, working out of our Head Office in Bury and covering the North West.

What you will be doing:

As our new Contracts Manager, you will be part of a busy team, ensuring all contracts are completed to budget and within client-defined timescales. You will promote best practice to ensure the use of Company Policies/Procedures in terms of financial management, Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and engineering on all aspects of the contract are adhered to. Enhancing and promoting our reputation is key, and you will do this creating positive workspaces and environments with our supply chain, our clients and our workforce.

You will be in control of several key contracts, and this will mean you will question on an ongoing basis the production levels, site staffing requirements, the sourcing of material alternatives etc, to ensure that maximum efficiency and best buying practices are constantly being undertaken.

Your ownership of each contract is paramount, being responsible for timescales, budgets and programmes on a fortnightly basis in the form of cost/value reports.

Tell us about you:

Ideally you will hold a Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent, along with a valid CSCS card. You must be confident and competent in Health and Safety practices. If you have significant experience managing all aspects of civil engineering projects, including drainage, concrete, piling, earthworks, utilities and river works, we would like to hear from you. Equally important will be your site management experience and ability to manage budgets/ programmes. Outstanding communication skills will be required in order to lead negotiations with client representatives at a senior level and knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts is also required.
