SEND SCIENCE TEACHER

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester

Contract: Temp - Perm

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Leader Education is working with an independent SEND school, based in the Greater Manchester area who is looking to expand their team of teachers.

The school is an independent SEND School, specifically providing a therapeutic and holistic education to students with EHC Plans. The students that attend this school are aged between 10-18 and have a diagnosis of ASD, anxiety, school phobia or sensory processing needs. Students also have SEMH needs and the associated challenging behaviours.

The school promotes a calm and supportive atmosphere to allow the students to peacefully engage in their work.

In line with each student's EHCP and ILP, each student has access to 1:1 support as well as tailored learning delivered by qualified teachers and many different therapies available.

The school has many additional facilities available to support their students such as sensory gardens, sensory rooms and life skills room.

We are looking for a passionate and nurturing Humanities Teacher to join the team.

The Role:

To teach Humanities - Geography, History, Religious Education, and PSHE
To plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of the children
To be approachable, understanding and empathetic
To provide a secure and happy learning environment
To manage the classroom with excellent behaviour management skills
To represent in the positive manner at all timesYou:

Will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Will have a relevant degree in Science
Will have previous experience teaching Science at a secondary-aged level
Will have previous experience with ASD, SEMH and the associated challenging behaviours
Will have excellent behaviour management skillsThis is a temp to permanent contract, working initially through Leader Education and moving on to permanent contract.
