As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing tailored assistance to students who require additional support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials accordingly.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive and positive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to address the needs of students and facilitate their engagement in lessons.
  • Support in monitoring and assessing the academic progress and social development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other Learning Support Assistants.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Foster positive communication with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a supportive network for each learner.
  • Provide regular updates on student progress to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different learning styles.
  • Ability to follow instructions from teaching staff and work effectively within a team.
