Production manager wanted for an engineering company based in Durham

Must have

Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar role within engineering/manufacturing. Ideally from a welding background

Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and inspire teams.

Knowledge of lean/continuous improvement methods (5S, Kaizen, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.

HNC/HND or degree in Engineering/Manufacturing (preferred).

Day to day duties

Lead and manage day-to-day production activities, ensuring targets for output, quality, and safety are consistently met.

Develop and implement production schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting workflows as necessary.

Manage and motivate production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company quality standards.

Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and process improvements.

Manage budgets, resources, and production costs effectively.

Provide regular performance reports to senior management and recommend strategies for growth and efficiency.
