GSL Education are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a supportive SEN school environment in High Peak.

About the Role:

This vital role, Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant involves supporting students with a range of behavioural and learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, ODD and SEMH. Working closely with a small team, you will help create a safe and stimulating learning environment. You may also be asked to step in to deliver lessons to small groups or individuals during staff absence.

Your Responsibilities are:

Provide tailored support to pupils in 1:1 and small group settings
Assist with classroom routines and lesson preparation
Lead learning sessions when necessary in absence of teaching staff
Build positive relationships to support social and emotional development
Manage behaviour calmly and effectively using strategies provided
Work collaboratively with colleagues and outside agencies
Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Requirements:

Experience in a school or SEN setting as a Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant is essential
Must hold a full driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance as this role is based on Mileage Paid
Knowledge and experience working with ASD, ADHD, ODD, and SEMH needs
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 (desirable)
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, growth-focused attitude
Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply)
