Electrical Design Engineer

My client is seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team, delivering control panel layouts, schematics, and technical support for installations and projects. This office-based role may require occasional travel to client or supplier sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Create electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics using CAD software.

*

Specify and source components to meet project requirements.

*

Select PLCs/HMIs in collaboration with software engineers.

*

Support service teams with technical queries and parts sourcing.

*

Ensure compliance with relevant standards (BS7671, IEC 60204, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA79, AS3000).

*

Work with low and extra-low voltage AC/DC systems (110V-600V, 24V).

*

Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate control systems.

Skills & Experience:

*

Practical electrical wiring experience; mechanical experience advantageous.

*

Experience with electrical CAD (Eplan Pro Panel desirable).

*

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

*

HNC/HND or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.

*

Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

*

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

*

Experience with international control panel standards.

*

Knowledge of PLC hardware/software (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Siemens).

*

Familiarity with industrial networking systems (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS232/485)
