Our client is a well-established company located near Thorpe Park, Leeds who are looking for an experienced credit controller to join the finance department on a full time, permanent basis. This role will sit alongside the finance team and report into the finance controller, and support with producing and analysing credit reports for finance meetings.

Position Overview:

As the Credit Control Officer, you will be entrusted with managing the company's credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining positive relationships. In addition, you will have responsibility for managing multi-currency debt, handling foreign transactions, and ensuring payments are processed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage aged debt and negotiating payment terms.
  • Escalate overdue accounts as necessary to protect the firm's cash flow.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate smooth payment processes.
  • Provide regular updates on outstanding debts and payment statuses.
  • Resolve any billing disputes, ensuring swift and efficient solutions to payment concerns.
  • Manage multi-currency debt, ensuring payments are received in the correct currency and taking action to mitigate the impact of exchange rate fluctuations.
  • Contribute to the development and streamlining of credit control processes, particularly around multi-currency debt collection.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, legal regulations, and best practices in credit control.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding of credit control practices, particularly in managing multi-currency accounts.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
