Annual Salary: £42,640 - £57,200 FTE plus £312 Office at Home AllowanceLocation: Midlands (Halesowen) approximately 1 day per week & working from home 4 days per week.Job Type: Full-time (37 hours), Permanent

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Operations Manager to join our well-established family placement team at Barnardo's. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and expansion of our high-quality fostering services, ensuring the safety and development of children in our care.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as Registered Manager for the operational area, focusing on fostering and adoption.
  • Directly manage services, ensuring delivery and growth of high-quality support.
  • Participate in external forums and maintain productive relationships with local commissioning bodies and stakeholders.
  • Understand and implement service and system change, improvement, and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and manage any arising issues effectively.
  • Attend external meetings to discuss contract bids and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers in commissioning teams and other agencies.
  • Promote Barnardo’s as a learning organisation and facilitate the sharing of learning across peer networks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Social work qualification and appropriate professional registration dependent on UK location.
  • Substantial experience working with children and young people in a fostering & adoption placement context.
  • Experience managing a team of professional staff.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Fostering & Adoption and safeguarding.
  • Management qualification (NVQ 4, DMS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Ability to manage different stakeholder groups and present the vision and aims of Barnardo’s Fostering & Adoption placement services.
  • Driving license and car.
