I'm currently working with a well-established and highly regarded residential developer who is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join their growing team based in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who wants to play a key role in delivering high-quality housing schemes across the region.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you'll support the land and planning function in identifying, promoting, and securing residential development opportunities. You'll be involved throughout the planning lifecycle, from early-stage site assessments through to securing planning permissions.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and appeals
Conduct site appraisals and assess planning risks/opportunities
Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
Support strategic land promotion and Local Plan representations
Monitor planning policy changes and advise the wider business
Assist in negotiating Section 106 agreements

About You

Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (desirable)
Previous experience within residential development, consultancy, or local authority
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
