I’m currently supporting a well-established construction business that is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team at their offices in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with technical detail, and wants to be part of a supportive and highly skilled team.

The role is ideal for someone who has previous experience within construction estimating and is confident working with drawings, producing take-offs, and liaising with both internal teams and external clients.

The Role

As the Estimator, you will play a key part in the tendering process and will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Reading and interpreting architect and engineer drawings and specifications
• Preparing detailed take-offs
• Working closely with the in-house design team to confirm construction details
• Obtaining quotations for materials and building strong supplier relationships
• Pricing projects using Excel and producing clear, professional tender letters
• Monitoring submitted tenders and following up with clients to drive outcomes
• Supporting the smooth handover to the operations team once projects are secured

What We’re Looking For

This position would suit someone who is organised, confident, and keen to build a long-term career within a specialist construction environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience in construction estimating (highly desirable)
• Strong organisational skills from any sector
• Good PC literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• A confident verbal communication style and the ability to liaise effectively with both clients and colleagues

Hours, Salary and benefits

• Up to £35,000-£40,000 per annum
• Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
• Two-week Christmas shutdown
