A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK for decades. Based in Acton, West London, the Quantity Surveyor will be joining their busy and growing utilities, tunnelling and structures teams, delivering your own portfolio of subcontract packages where values can be as high as £50m each.

The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with taking their packages through the full life cycle covering procurement and tendering through to contract negotiation, dispute management and settlement of final accounts. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with a Senior QS and Commercial Manager, supporting them with the overall running of the wider commercial department and the development of junior surveyors within the team. Some of your key duties will include:

Pricing and administration of of the main contract and subcontracts
Assisting with the management of subcontract payment notices
Undertake periodic cost value reconciliation reports
Identify areas of commercial risks and opportunities
Oversee the procurement process
Support junior members of the team by offering advice and guidance where required
Offer commercial advice and support to the onsite project teams
Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity must have previously worked for a main contractor in the UK on civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or similar projects. You'll need an understanding of the NEC suite of contracts, excellent communication skills and keen to develop your career to it's full potential.
