Assistant Service Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for Assistant Service Managers to join our team at Margate, it is a Supported living service which supports 3 service users who have complex needs. In addition, all service users have mobility issues, use wheelchairs, and require 2:1 support with overhead hoists for all transfers. All 3 have profound learning disabilities. They all require support with communication in their own format. They all require high personal care support. In addition, they require support with eating and drinking, one of whom is supported by the SALT team regarding Dysphagia, and one who has a PEG in situ.

Overview:

* Salary - £25,877 per annum + benefits
* Hours of Work - 39 hours per week
* Shifts - Be flexible to work early mornings (7:30am - 3pm), late evenings (2:30pm - 10pm), days (9am - 5pm) and sleep ins across a 7-day rota. Occasional waking nights may be also be requested (subject to any changes).
* Area - Margate, Kent

Responsibilities of Assistant Service Manager:

* Work with your Service Manager to use management information to make sound business decisions to encourage a solution led culture.
* Inspire and motivate the team to provide high quality support.
* Maintain a practical knowledge of policies and procedures and ensure appropriate usage
* Effectively recruit, develop, and manage employees in a fair and consistent manner.
* Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
* Rota management.
* Managing the team with annual leave, sickness management and training requirements.
* Providing bespoke person-centred support whilst on shift and advocating for the people we support.
* Lead shifts, administer medication, update care plans, risk assessments and record and monitor daily logs.

Skills of Assistant Service Manager:

* Experience supporting individuals who have disabilities and behaviours that challenge
* Have experience of supervising/managing a small to medium team
* Ideally hold a full valid driving licence and have access to your own vehicle
* To be able to support people with personal care
* Ability to manage own time and able to work under pressure
* Share Avenues values
* To be flexible and be able to work shifts required
