HGV Class 1 Night Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our well-established client based in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday: start times between 16:30 and 18:00

Rates of pay:

• Basic: £17.00 per hour
• Overtime £25.50 per hour

Day-to-day duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Night Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

• Carrying out collections and deliveries. 
• Loading and unloading with an FLT (full training and licence provided)
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential skills:

To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Night Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE licence
• A minimum of 24 months’ experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
• Good spoken and written English
• Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
• A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous RDC delivery experience. 

Training:

• Driver’s assessment must be completed before starting
• FLT training (paid and licence paid for by client)
