About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, including covering classes when teachers are absent. This is a varied and rewarding position ideal for someone looking to develop their leadership in the classroom.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2 in the teacher's absence
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups, helping them achieve their potential
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Preparing classroom resources and supporting with general classroom duties
  • Liaising with staff and parents to provide regular progress updates
  • Following the school's behaviour, safeguarding and teaching policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • Strong classroom management and confident delivery of lessons
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, flexible and positive attitude
