Interim Finance Assistant Fully remote – 2.5 days per week Temp £20.00 - £22.00 per hour
OverviewWe are seeking an Interim Finance Manager to join an advisory firm supporting the private equity industry. This part-time role will provide cover during a sabbatical, ensuring continuity of day-to-day finance operations and effective cash management.
Responsibilities Working closely with the Finance Director, you will take ownership of core finance operations, including:
- Preparing and issuing sales invoices in line with terms of engagement, including and relevant expenses
- Monitoring incoming payments and liaising with payroll regarding commission payments
- Processing employee expenses on Rydoo, ensuring VAT compliance and timely posting
- Managing UK and German purchase ledgers and supplier invoice processing
- Uploading and reconciling bank transactions
- Overseeing credit control, debtor reporting, and customer follow-ups
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting month-end close
- Reviewing and submitting UK VAT returns
- Acting as the primary finance contact for internal queries
- Ensuring clear documentation and a smooth handover back to the Finance Manager
Candidate Profile:- Proven hands-on experience in finance operations or management accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and Rydoo
- Experience managing multi-currency bank accounts
- Solid understanding of UK accounting principles and VAT
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently
- Confident Excel user
- Previous interim or contract experience
- Experience in an SME environment
