About the Role
Destination Education is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and well-supported Primary School in East Finchley. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone passionate about working with children and supporting their learning, confidence, and wellbeing. You will be working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2 depending on the needs of the school, assisting both the class teacher and pupils throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include helping with classroom activities, providing 1:1 or small-group support, preparing learning materials, and encouraging positive behaviour. The school has a strong community feel, excellent leadership, and a commitment to staff development—making it an ideal environment for someone looking to build experience in education.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils during lessons, group activities, and independent work
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
Help create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Provide 1:1 support for pupils who may need additional guidance
Support core subjects including reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy
Get involved with school events, enrichment activities, and wider school life
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) are helpful but not essential
