We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site in the Bishops Stortford area.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to join a stable site with a strong engineering team, working a days-only shift pattern while supporting production through proactive maintenance and fast response to breakdowns.

The RoleAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping production running efficiently through planned preventive maintenance and reactive fault-finding across a range of manufacturing machinery.

You will work closely with production teams to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability and support continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities
Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

Diagnose faults and repair production machinery and plant equipment

Support continuous improvement and engineering projects

Maintain engineering records and maintenance logs

Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal downtime

Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards

The Engineer We Are Looking For
Multi-skilled engineer (electrical or mechanical bias considered)

NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent

Experience working in manufacturing / FMCG environments

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Experience with PPM systems and reactive maintenance

Able to work independently and within a team

Desirable Experience
Food or FMCG manufacturing experience

Electrical qualifications (18th Edition beneficial)

Experience working in fast-paced production environments
